About the Role:
As part of the Tax Preparation and Client Service duties, you will:
- Conduct in-person tax consultations and prepare accurate tax returns.
- Ensure all lodgements are compliant and submitted on time.
- Provide clear tax advice and maintain high client satisfaction.
- Handle fee calculation, payment processing, and daily banking.
For the Office Management duties you will:
- Oversee daily operations including scheduling, front-desk supervision, and supplies.
- Maintain a professional, clean, and welcoming office environment.
- Implement efficient processes to minimise client wait times.
- Ensure compliance with H&R Block policies and TPB regulations.
To facilitate Team Leadership, you will:
- Supervise tax consultants and support staff.
- Manage staff rosters and ensure full coverage during peak periods.
- Train and mentor junior staff.
- Foster a positive, high-performance workplace culture.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Registered Tax Agent (or eligible for TPB registration).
- Minimum 5 years of tax accounting experience including Individual, Partnership, Trust and Company tax returns.
- Experience in a senior or supervisory role preferred.
- CPA or CA membership highly regarded.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Xero preferred but not required.
- Leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Problem-solving and adaptability.
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the below:

For Tax:
- Returns lodged (volume growth).
- Accuracy and Compliance (ATO lodgements).
- Client Satisfaction (>90% rating).
Office KPIs
- Revenue Target Achievement.
- Appointment Utilisation (>95%).
- Staff Development and Retention.
Compliance Expectations
- Maintain TPB registration and meet all regulatory obligations.
- Adhere to the TPB Code of Professional Conduct.
- Ensure client confidentiality and data privacy.
- Complete required Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours.
- Uphold H&R Block’s ethical and operational standards.
