H&R Block, with over 400 offices across Australia, offers flexible work that fits perfectly with your lifestyle. We are looking for income tax return preparers to fill the role of casual Tax Consultant to assist us during our peak period from July. You will be assisting clients with their tax preparation needs.

This position is working in an office, or multiple offices in the Adelaide District. The district covers the following geographic areas:

Regional - Broken Hill                       
Far North
Adelaide North
CBD and Central Adelaide
Adelaide East
Adelaide West
Adelaide South
Adelaide Far South
Mount Barker

Your Journey with Us:

  • Complete our Income Tax Course or Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for prior employees wishing to return.
  • If you are successful, you will attend paid in-office training in June on H&R Block procedures. Dates, times, and location of the training will be provided.

Employment Criteria:

  • A sound level of tax knowledge based on your results from the H&R Block Income Tax Course (for new applicants) or completion of 20 units of CPE (prior employees).
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with H&R Block’s tax preparation program.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and confidently communicate with clients.
  • Availability to attend H&R Block Office Procedure training sessions in June.
  • Availability to work at locations that meet our staffing requirements.
  • Minimum availability of three shifts on three separate days per week.
  • Available from mid-June to late August
  • No employment with any other tax accountant in a capacity that can create a conflict of interest.
  • Police Check clearance.
  • Must have a smartphone capable of accessing the MyID system.
