About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Bookkeeping and Administration Manager to lead our bookkeeping services within a public practice accounting environment. This is not an internal finance or corporate bookkeeping role — we’re looking for someone who thrives in a client-facing, multi-entity, public practice setting.

You’ll oversee the delivery of high-quality bookkeeping services to a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized business clients, while managing and mentoring a team of bookkeepers and admin staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional bookkeeping services to a wide range of business clients.
  • Manage client engagements from onboarding through to job completion.
  • Lead, train, and support the Bookkeeping and Administration teams.
  • Oversee BAS/IAS lodgments, ASIC annual reviews, and compliance documentation.
  • Process payroll/STP and reconcile client ledgers and ATO accounts.
  • Monitor workflow, job progress, and ensure adherence to budgets and deadlines.
  • Maintain high standards of technical accuracy and client service.

About You

  • Minimum Cert IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Registered BAS Agent and member of a professional association (CPA, CA, ICB, or ABA).
  • At least 10 years’ experience in public practice bookkeeping and administration.
  • Proven experience managing a team in a client-service environment.
  • Proficient in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and a client-first mindset.
  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently.
